DAY 2 OF FEATURE: Ladysilverwings

Alrighty, since I was able to get my lazy butt outta bed this morning and get my daughter on the bus on time for once, I decided to get online. Especially since my 2 younger daughters were still asleep, and still are. You are probably thinking "Why?" Well, I'm thinking the same thing. I should go enjoy being able to hear myself think, enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the TODAY show knowing I'll be able to hear it and not have to turn on the captions so I know what's going on. But I have a feeling that today is going to be one of those days that if I don't get it done early, it ain't getting done.

So I hope you enjoy todays post Ladysilverwings, I'm giving up a steaming cup of coffee and having peace and quiet just for you. LOL ;)

So, since I've had my time to ramble on about nothing, I think I will tell you what my pick of the day is.

Well....wouldn't you like to know?

If you do, then you shall.

HERE IT IS!

The beautiful cross pictured above is called the "Cross Knot Necklace". It is hand tied and knotted, and uses wooden beads. The picture i chose doesn't show them, but if you go to Ladysilverwings shop (there's a link on the left under "My fave links") there are pictures showing the beads on it.

The necklace is 26.5 inches in total length, and is made from a soft suede like material. It is also adjustable so you can make it your desired length. The only question I have for this one, is how long is the cross itself?

I will contact Ladysilverwings and give you an answer as soon as I know. My answer will be posted below in the comments.

I chose the Cross Knot Necklace with Easter in mind. It's february people! Do you not think that Easter isn't going to sneak up on us? Hello! Before we know it it's gonna be Christmas again! I said it, I know you probably don't like it, but I said it. And you KNOW it's true.

Anyways, before I forget what I'm talking about, I thought that the Cross Knot Necklace would make an awesome Easter gift. And for only $28 bucks, that's better than alot of the cheap crap you find in walmart. At least you know that this will last, it is unique and not mass marketed, and it's handmade! I've seen stuff like this on Etsy alot, and it's WAY more pricey and digs deep in you wallet.

So save some cash, get something cool, and get something free out of it too! Yeah, don't forget, mention my blog in notes to seller on ANY purchase made in Ladysilverwings shop and you get a free notecard!

If you would like to see what her notecards look like, please feel free to look over yesterdays post.

That's it for today my fellow bloggians. Hope you enjoyed it, I know I did. But know the kiddos are awake.

Ciao.

NEW FEATURE OF THE WEEK: Ladysilverwings

Congratulations Ladysilverwings! She will be my featured shop of the week. And it is my pleasure to do a feature on such a lovely shop!

I know I haven't featured anyone for awhile, but I thought what better time to start up again than in the spring? So, enjoy learning about Ladysilverwings and all the other Etsy shops to come in these coming weeks.

I checked out Ladysilverwings shop and... here are the results! Ladysilverwings shop opened on Etsy on February 26, 2010. Happy 1st anniversary! She has had 15 sales, and 100% positive feedback! WOOT! WTG Ladysilverwings!

I asked Ladysilverwings to tell me a litte about herself for my readers.
Here's what she wrote....

"I'm Katie Hinton, and if you can imagine a 5' tall elf with hair past her tush and allergies to the modern world, that's pretty much me. I live 15 miles from the middle of nowhere on a farm in northwestern Texas, and have been in a distance-education homeschooling program for ten years. I'll be starting college soon with a double major in history and art. I hope to make my crafts a paying job while I'm there, as one of my highest philosophies of life is to do the work I love. One of my great loves in life is finding unique materials to work with and turning them into things of beauty. I get inspiration for my designs from a lot of things, like nature, history, music, literature, dreams, travel, faith, and sometimes just walking into a store and browsing. I'll try just about any style of creation I encounter, but my main creative obsession is making jewelry. I started playing with beads when I was five, and remain willfully addicted to them. I have my own sense of style and fashion, and it shows in many of my pieces. Everything I make shares a bit of myself, and like me my style tends to evolve as I encounter more of the world."

I find this very inspiring. Great job Ladysilverwings! I hope Etsy makes your dreams come true so you are able to craft your way through college.

And now for the unveiling of my pick of the day.....

TADA!

I chose this "Soaring Dove Necklace" for my pick of the day. I saw it and it just gives me peace and inspiration as I look at it. It just gives me hope, that no matter what kind of winds or storm we are currently in we can still come out soaring, and be at peace as a dove is.

The Soaring Dove necklace can be yours for $66.00 in Ladysilverwings shop. She is also offering a free notecard to anyone who purchases an item from her shop this week if you mention that you saw her shop featured on my blog. Just mention this in the notes to seller section when making your purchases.

Here is a link to see what her notecards look like: Ladysilverwings Notecards

I have to say, the notecards are absolutely amazing, and I can't believe she's offering a free note card with every purchase. Just remember to mention that you saw her shop featured on my blog and one of these notecards could be all yours!

You can find a direct link to Ladysilverwings shop on the left side of my blog under "My fave links".

Until tomorrow my blogger friends, blog on, blog on.

Cell phone postcards? What will they come up with next?

I have to admit, I was not really sure how great cell phone postcards would be. I mean, how great can a picture look on a postcard? Little did I know it would look totally awesome!

I took a picture of my three little girls in thier new tinkerbell jammies in front of the christmas tree. I was really happy I hadn't sent out any christmas cards yet (yes, I am a procrastinator). I uploaded the picture I took to my computer and added it to cellphonepostcards.com. After that I added all the family I was going to send postcards too. It was really cool 'cause it's like an address book on thier site, and it's super easy to use, find people you want to send to, add family & friends, etc. So now they even made my life a little easier because I don't have to search my house for my address book!

Next I just typed in my little christmas message from me, hubby, & the kids, and voila! I was done in like ten minutes with my christmas postcards. If I was sending out other cards, it would've taken me forever. I liked this because it was a personalized christmas card that I didn't have to hand over an arm & leg to pay for it. I live two states away from my family, so I knew my mom would be thrilled to get this in the mail. They use the whole postcard and fill it with the picture you use.

I am a bzzagent, what that means is that I get to try out products for free from companies that want my opinion. I got 10 free postcards to send to friends and family. After the 10, they are only 99 cents. Don't worry, you get ten free too to try it out ;) I think that is more than reasonable (unlike the people at the mall who want to take your childs picture with santa and charge 22.99 for a sheet. No joke! We went this past week.)

The only flaw I can see with cellphone postcards is that they need some kind of protector over the picture. Some rain got on our picture(they sent a copy, luckily it was that one) and it messed it up a little in one spot. Not a lot, but what if we had had a thunderstorm? That's the only downfall I see. Other than that, cellphonepostcards.com, you are good in my book!

The Factor Tree

Okay, I know I usually do alot more Etsy stuff on my blog than anything else, but I did want to let everyone know about this amazing site. If you have children who are in preschool all the way to 6th grade, you will love me forever! :) At least I hope so...
I guess I should start at the beginning. Well, I am a bzzagent. What does that mean exactly? Well, it means I signed up to become a bzzagent and get some super cool samples from major companies to see what I think. Low and behold, they want me to tell others about it too! So I'm gonna share this awesome sample with my blogging friends. Being a bzzagent I am completely honest about my thoughts on the product and don't try to "sell" anything (I hate it when others try to do it to me), and tell you about the product without added "hype" so to say.

Well, here is my honest opinion about a site called TheFactorTree. Thus far I have tried it for about two weeks or so (as a bzzagent I got a free membership for a month), and I have loved every minute of it. I have two daughters that are old enough to use this service, one of which is a preschooler and the other is in first grade. This site has helped to see where my preschooler is struggling in math (I guess I forgot to mention it's a math site for preschool children up to 6th grade, huh?). It was extremely easy to sign up for, was easy to use (for me and my children), made math fun for them, and it was so very easy to see the progress and where they were struggling.

TheFactorTree helped me in knowing what I needed to work on with my children a little bit more in, which made my job of guessing the part of math they didn't get a little easier. Hey, and anything that makes my life easier as a parent is well worth my time!

Anyways, I did say I had a sample to pass on to my blogger friends as well, didn't I? Well, not only are they giving bzzagents a free membership, but they are extending that offer to you as well. You can get a free (yes, completely and totally free) 2 week free membership to TheFactorTree. When you sign up just enter the code BZZAGENT in the promo line, and voila! It's really that easy! I've made the image at the beginning of the post a clickable image so it will take you right to TheFactorTree website. Merry Math everyone!

How many actual readers are there out there?

Just curious as to how many of you actually read my blog. So, i'm doing a mega giveaway. Through this weekend I am giving away a very special ornament. My mother learned how to make these from her mother, and so on, so it is a very secritive family pattern for these ornaments. And if you have enough patience to make them, you deserve them. There is a picture below.

As you can see, they look beautiful on a tree, or if you like, you can even hang one in your car. I like to because it catches the sun so well and it just shines and sparkles. It looks amazing if you use it on your tree also, it catches the light from the christmas lights and it just sparkles.

So did I make you want one? I hope so, because you can get one pretty easily, and no strings attached. I will ship you your very own ornament and pay for the shipping myself! All you have to do is tell your friends! Yup, that simple. Tell them to follow my blog & follow me on twitter, post your name, and voila! you've got yourself a beautiful, even better FREE, ornament! That's all you have to do! Simply search for RJBLUEYES in the search box on twitter & follow me, next come back here(If you follow my blog you don't have to do the next part) and follow my blog, (do this part though) and put a comment under this post with your name. That's it, I swear!

The person with the the most posts with their name(including your friends following me on twitter and on my blog) wins this beautiful ornament. Want an extra bonus? It's a surprise! ;) So get on out there guys and spread the word!

Lazy days are gone...

No, this post is not being about lazy, nor have I been lazy. I really don't know where the title of this post came from, but it must be because I've had WAY too much caffeine and the fact that it is one o'clock in the morning.

Okay, I lied. Right now it is only 12:44. BIG difference there! Lol, anyways, I want to do a special week of posts, yes, starting today, tonight, whatever. So while all the early birds are in bed, night owls here is your chance! I want to do a special posting for Etsy sellers, advertisers, whateverelsers (like my make up name? yeah, I'm really tired) to catch up on all the months I've missed.

Have friends? Good. Have a Facebook page? Great! Have twitter? Even better! You are gonna need 'em. So if your friends owe you one it's time to call in that "ya owe me big time!". Believe me, it is gonna be soooooooo worth it!

What am I up too? Oh, nothing really. Just no good at all. ;) Read on my minions, read on....

Who wants a TON of traffic to thier specified site? (I do! I do!)

I will post in the morning afternoon and night everywhere I possibly can (where they won't criminally press charges for hacking into a web site, lol, jk. But really, I won't do that.) Facebook, blogger, you name it 'cause if I'm a member (there's hardly any sites where I'm not a member) It's soooooo getting posted. The only catch is that we are going to make this a little type of sweepstakes kinda thing, or a giveaway if you will.

You donate one small item(etsy) and in return I post all about your shop, EVERYWHERE. Meaning MEGA traffic for Christmas shoppers! I am only going to do this through Friday. So if you are interested use the contact button above and shoot me an email with a pic of the item you will be donating and sending to the winner, your links (facebook, twitter, etsy, etc.) that you want traffic to, and a number 1-12. The first four people to post a comment below will be the fortunate four. Good luck everyone!

What A Week!

Okay, between my garbage disposal, sprinkler head, sink faucet, and cable not working I haven't had much time to blog. To me this is saddening because it's my favorite thing to do!

I'm giving the heads up that I'll be featuring a lovely little shop on Etsy starting Monday, and I hope you all love it as much as I do. I'm not telling who it is, you'll just have to wait till tomorrow. :P

So my blog isn't going pictureless, I'm going to put a few pictures up of a few things I've recently posted on Etsy. I love putting pictures in my blog, it makes it more enjoyable and colorful than just plain text. I would've listed a new seller today, but that would be unfair to previous sellers I've had on my blog since I'd be giving this week's seller an extra day. So here it goes.

The above pictures are some new hair clips I've just listed, and some cute little berries that I thought would be cute in spring and summer projects. They've already been painted light happy color that remind us of warmer days (I can make some that aren't if you would like some like that). The clay and paint are non toxic. I have kids myself, so I always find myself looking for stuff like that.

Come back tomorrow to see our new seller. Show me some love, shoot me a comment!
